What to include in an upholstery-cleaning quote request

A sofa, a dining chair and an office chair can need different cleaning approaches. A few useful details help us understand your furniture before arranging a visit.

Count the pieces and show the whole item

List the number of sofas, loveseats, armchairs or smaller chairs. Include a full photograph of each style and mention sectionals, ottomans or separate cushions. A close-up of a stain alone does not show the size and construction of the piece.

For a commercial project, group matching chairs together and record how many there are of each type. Note whether they are all in one room or spread across several floors or buildings.

Find the care information

Photograph the manufacturer’s care label if it is accessible. Mention the fibre or material if you know it, and tell us about removable covers, delicate trims or a previous professional treatment. Suitability is assessed before cleaning; not every upholstered item can be treated the same way.

Describe the concern clearly

  • Point out general soil, individual spills or other visible marks.
  • Tell us what caused the mark if known.
  • List any cleaning products or spot treatments already used.
  • Mention changes in colour or texture.
  • Share close-up photos along with the full view of the furniture.

Include access and timing

Tell us where the furniture is located, whether there are stairs or an elevator, and when the room is next needed. Leave time for drying before a meeting, event or overnight guests.

If you also want carpet or an area rug cleaned, add that to the initial enquiry. We can discuss whether the work can be coordinated and what needs a separate assessment. Keystone Carpet Care serves homes and businesses in Brandon and Westman.
